Analyzing Stakeholder Diversity in G2G Efforts: Combining Descriptive Stakeholder Theory and Dialectic Process Theory

2008

Author's version of an article published in e-Service Journal, 6 (2), 3-23. Previous research indicates that the benefits of e-government initiatives are slower to realize than initially expected. This has partly been ascribed to the particularly complex settings of e-government projects, consisting of a variety of stakeholders promoting different and often conflicting objectives. Yet few studies have explicitly addressed the inherent challenges of this diversity. This study presents an analytical approach for investigating contradictory stakeholder interests by combining descriptive stakeholder theory and dialectic process theory. Descriptive stakeholder theory is concerned with why some s…

Understanding the dynamics in e-Participation initiatives: Looking through the genre and stakeholder lenses

2011

Accepted version of an article published in the journal: Government Information Quarterly. Also available from the publisher at: http//dx.doi.org/10.1016/j.giq.2010.10.005 Conventionally, e-Participation initiatives are considered to be successful only if users use these services. While the growing body of e-Participation literature has listed and studied challenges and barriers to achieving this end, conceptual clarity on why such projects are considered as failures is yet to be achieved. We argue that this is due to the inadequate understanding of the complex stakeholder dynamics of an e-Participation project. In this paper, we seek to address this knowledge gap by proposing that using St…

"Corporate governance": approcci manageriali ed etici a confronto

2009

Farmers’ Proactive Behaviour An Overview about Theoretical Bases and Factors Affecting Sustainability

2020

This chapter shows a review on the extant literature on the most used socio-psychological theories employed by scholars to investigate this topic. Second, through applying an exploratory case study, carried out on a sample of wineries working in the Canton of Ticino (Switzerland), the present work intends to gather more knowledge about which factors affect wine managers’ behaviour towards the adoption of more sustainable practices into their business. The case study has been preceded by a theoretical contribution based on the two most widespread theories used in research field: Stakeholders Theory (SHT) (Freeman, 1984) and Theory of Planned Behaviour (TPB) (Ajzen, 1991). The decision to int…

Csr communication strategies of Colombian business groups: an analysis of corporate reports

2018

ABSTRACT: The aim of this paper is to assess stakeholder orientation and corporate social responsibility (CSR) communication strategies in the business groups (BGs) of an emerging economy by means of content analysis. We worked with 30 non-financial BGs taken from the Colombian Stock Exchange. The study uses as its unit of analysis corporate reports that have been classified into four categories: annual reports (ARs), sustainability reports (SRs), combined reports (CRs), and integrated reports (IRs). The results show that IRs are the most similar reports, that Colombian BGs are mainly employee-oriented (ARs, SRs, CRs) and shareholder-oriented (IRs), and that response and involvement communi…

Stakeholder management: A theoretical analysis of the PMBOK® Guide

2015

Professional certification is an important part of many specialized occupations. For project managers, one certifying body is the Project Management Institute (PMI). To achieve their certification(s), project managers must demonstrate proficiency in a wide variety of associated skills and agree to abide by the PMI’s Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct. In this paper, we briefly review the underlying ethical theoretical foundation of stakeholder theory and the PMI’s Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct. We assessed the PMBOK® Guide to determine where the approach is one of management of stakeholders versus one of management for stakeholders. The areas where there may be inconsistencie…
